4 Tips To Help When Choosing Your Wedding Flowers

Start Contacting Local Professionals
Your first step in choosing your wedding flowers is to start contacting the local professionals. By that, I’m not referring to just any florist. I’m referring to those that specialize in supplying floral decor for weddings and other events. Don’t be afraid to ask friends that have been married in the local area for recommendations. You’re going to need to contact at least one local business that specializes in this. I recommend that you contact a local florist at your earliest convenience. It’s best to get the process started sooner rather than later.

Prepare For Your Consultation
There are a few things that you should be prepared to discuss with your florist. In order to have the most productive consultation possible, there are a few things that your florist will need to know in order to provide you with the best ideas for your wedding.

The Number of Guests: Your florist will want to get a rough idea of the number of guests and tables that you plan on having. They will also need to know how many individuals are in the bridal party. Basically, the florist will need to get an idea of the number of people and tables that they’ll need to accommodate. This is important because it allows the florist to begin thinking in terms of supply and demand for your specific event.

The Budget: Knowing what budget you’ve set for flowers and decor is important. If you can have this set prior to your consultation, that will certainly help get things started a lot quicker. Knowing your budget and sharing it openly with your florist will allow them to better take into consideration your finances when sharing the floral and decor choices they have available.

The Style: I’m sure you have an idea of that look that you’d like to showcase on your special day. I’d suggest sharing details with your florist such as the color(s) of your bridal dresses, the color(s) that the groom will be wearing and any floral designs that peak your interest. An experienced florist will be able to bring all these things together and provide you with the style and look desired.

Schedule Your Appointment
When it comes time to meet with a florist, I suggest that you share a few things with them. Feel free to show your wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses with them. The florist will use these things when trying to come up with ideas for your flowers and event decor. If you’ve been planning this out for some time and you have examples photos of arrangements, bouquets and other decor items that you like, I’d suggest bringing them to your appointment. The more information about the event that the florist has the better!

Be Ready To Ask Questions
Choosing flowers for your wedding can be overwhelming given the many choices that you have to choose from. I suggest that you try and make a list of any questions that you have for the florist. There is no such thing as a silly question when it comes to planning your wedding. You want it to be perfect and the florist will want the same.

These are just a few simple tips that might help you when the time comes to choose your wedding flowers. If you’re looking for a local Key West florist, we’ll be glad to meet with you to make your wedding day dreams come true.
